** PLEASE NOTE: If this is an urgent issue where you believe someone’s immediate safety is at risk, please call the SPS Safety and Security office at 206-252-0707 or 911 for immediate attention.**
Please submit your question or concern through the form below (preferably one issue or question at a time). Once your info is received, it will be reviewed. Someone may contact you via email or phone to gather additional info if there is a need to do so. After enough information is collected to ensure a proper understanding of the concern or question, one of the following steps could happen next:
- We may follow up to answer your questions, provide more info, or work with you to navigate the system. Sometimes, we may refer your question or concern to an appropriate person or dept to provide information or answer questions.
- We may work directly with you and other parties to help bring understanding, clarity, or perspective to any party that helps one or all sides explore options for moving toward a resolution.
- Without a quick answer or clear resolution, the Ombudsperson or appointed staff may work with all parties more closely. If appropriate, we may even provide a facilitative process to help open communication and/or repair a damaged partnership so all parties can work better together.
The District Ombudsperson Office is a confidential alternative dispute resolution office established to assist parents/guardians, students, and SPS Schools or Departments with problem-solving issues or concerns that negatively impact an SPS student, guardian, school staff, or the SPS/School-Family Partnership. The District Ombuds Office can provide information, explore options, and provide informal intervention support when appropriate. However, we can also track systemic or chronic issues and make recommendations to relevant stakeholders as necessary.
The information with an asterisk symbol * is required to submit the form. Please be concise while providing as much info as necessary so we can understand your concern and desired outcome. Please keep in mind that not every concern is best handled by the Ombuds Office, but we will help you determine that and who is the best to assist if we are not.
